My TV gets both digital and HDTV signals (integrated tuner). Do I need to buy a special antenna? Or can I get the HD and digital broadcast with a regular antenna. I am renting a house that has an outside antenna just waiting to be used.

Maybe. Go to antennaweb.org and type in your zip code. Then post the results back here. That will let you know how close to the towers you are and what stations are available.

It says that I can get a few channels about 45-50 miles away.

I'm not sure how to connect the outside antenna. There is a outlet type thing in the wall (old house) that might work. I might have to get through 3 layers of siding though to connect it.
