I just heard this on ESPN a few minutes ago,during the Sonics/Lakers game.Dominique Wilkins was elected into the Pro Basketball Hall Of Fame,official announcement to be made sometime Monday.It's about time "The Human Highlight Film" was put in the HOF.Congrats 'Nique.:up :)

For those NBA fans who may not know who Dominique Wilkins is,here is a brief history of his career from www.nba.com Born:1/12/60 in Paris,France College:Georgia Drafted by:Utah Jazz,1982 (3rd overall pick) Transactions:Rights traded to Atlanta (9/2/82),Traded to L.A. Clippers (2/24/94),Signed with Boston (7/25/94),Signed with San Antonio (10/4/96),Signed with Orlando (2/5/99) Nicknames:'Nique,Human Highlight Film Honors:All-NBA First Team (1986),All-NBA Second Team (1987,'88,'91,'93) All-NBA Third Team (1989,'94) All-NBA Rookie Team (1983) Nine time NBA All-Star (1986-'94) Slam-Dunk Champ (1985-'90).In 1986 he won the NBA scoring title with an average of 30.3 points per game.In 1992,he set an NBA record by sinking 23 free throws in a game without a miss.He's the Atlanta Hawks' all-time franchise leader in both scoring and steals.One of only 12 players to score over 25,000 points in his NBA career,Wilkins returned to the NBA in 1996-'97 after one year in Europe and led the San Antonio Spurs in scoring with an average of 18.2 points per game at the age of 37.He left the NBA ranked seventh on the all-time scoring list with 26,534 points and 10th in career scoring average at 25.3 points per game.He returned to play his last season in the NBA during the 1998-'99 campaign alongside his brother Gerald with the Orlando Magic.In only 27 games,he averaged just 5.0 ppg and 2.6 rebounds per game,but will always be remembered as one of the game's most exciting players.

From www.espn.com Hall of Fame taps Barkley,Wilkins,Dumars,Auriemma.....Former NBA stars Charles Barkley,Joe Dumars and Dominique Wilkins,University of Connecticut women's coach Geno Auriemma,former Big East commissioner David Gavitt and Italian National team coach Sandro Gamba were elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall Of Fame on Monday."Since my retirement from basketball,I have waited for this call and am honored to be recognized as one of the greatest to have ever played the game." Wilkins said.Induction ceremonies will be Sept. 7-9 in Springfield,Mass....Congrats to the new inductees.:up :)
