Dont buy MOTOROLA Set Top Box

Please dont make the same mistake I did and buy a Motorola HDTV STB. I have owned this unit for almost two years and have had nothing but problems:

When unit powers on Closed Captioning is always turned on.

When unit powers on some channels dissapear from list and have to be rescanned.

Quality meter is inaccurate (or not even close to accurate).

Favorite List must be recreated each time unit is powered on.

I have spoken with Motorola and they offer no updates and no available fix.

I asked if they had any firmware updates, they said no.

I asked if it could be traded in towards a newer model, they said no.

Their advice was to continue to rescan channels and turn off CC each and every time.


So here I am stuck with a $399 receiver that I have to scan the channels and turn off CC every time I want to watch TV.

I just wanted everyone to know that MOTOROLA does not support their HDTV product line and continues to say my product is operating normally.

PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MOTOROLA HDTV PRODUCTS

HDTV100 the model with full front panel controls.

I think HDTV101 is the new one.
