After long delays, the Nintendo DS will get the Opera browser on June 4th.

The Opera web browser for the Nintendo DS has been available in Japan and Europe for several months now, and during that time there hadn't been a peep out of Nintendo of America regarding a possible stateside release for the software. At Game Developers Conference today, the company finally let it be known that the Opera browser is indeed heading to the US.

According to a release schedule handed out by Nintendo of America, the Nintendo DS Browser will ship on June 4th. No price or availability details were announced.

The Nintendo DS Browser gives players the ability to surf the internet via a touch screen interface, as long as they're within a Nintendo DS-compatible Wi-Fi hotspot. The browser also comes with an extra RAM pack that plugs into the Game Boy Advance slot on the system.
