Dual HDMI Output

Or is this too simple?
It is simple, but it is VERY expensive to implement. ATSC modulators need to have an MPEG2 encoder to work with most TVs.

The cheapest units I've seen have been in excess of $400 and that may not include the encoder. QAM may be cheaper.

Too bad they don't just have TV2 send out an ATSC (digital) signal on say channel 3.1 or 4.1 to the remote TV via coax. Or is this too simple?

Yes it's too simple since the program providers to E* won't let them do it. They are scared to death that someone might record a digital copy and sell it to someone else.

Not only can you see the difference, but you can often hear the difference.

If you do a little research you'll find that component is better than HDMI, especially on longer runs. The ONLY reason for HDMI is because of DRM.

Timing of sound

If you have 6' HDMI cable to one TV and a 75' component cable run to another TV off of a 772k, will the sound be the same or will one TV be slightly ahead of the other in the sound and picture?

HDMI is a single cable solution, relatively thin, with one connector at each end. With component, even the 5 wire single cable, you have thicker cables and multiple connectors at each end.
