I haven't seen any dual layer media in places like CompUSA, the drives exist but there's nothing to use them with.
I used to order my blanks from http://www.shop4tech.com I have a feeling they'll be one of the first to stock them.
$169 is a bargain on a branded recorder though.

Thought so myself :) edit... a quick check at tiger direct and outpost showed no media...Have heard or read over at avs that blanks are pretty expensive.

NewEgg.com has several dual layer DVD burners for under $100. Ive bought from them before and havent had any issues.

Yep, right on. I was just gonna say:

NEC 8X Dual Layer DVD+/-RW Drive, Model ND-2510A SW BLK, OEM $70.00, but they're presently out.

Good places for media include SuperMediaStore.com, and humphreymedia.com.

You can get dual layer blanks here........ http://www.meritline.com/dvd-r-double-dual-layer-dvdplusr-dl.html

If you check a local computer store (where they custom build), you can probably get a dual layer burner cheaper than $169. They have them here for $109.......... :)
My local computer store is in the dark ages when it comes to dvd stuff... :) btw thanks for the url, that LG burner is calling me (use dvd-ram)and already have and older LG....

I have had my Optorite DVD +/- RW dual layer burner ($60) for about 2 months now and I have ordered media that works very well in all my home DVD players and PS2. This drive is as good as all the high priced drives and adds HD Burn for regular CDR; which doubles its capacity.

3 pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL with Jewel Case #95014 $30

Nero v6 (already own Nero v6.6 Ultimate) and a beige & black bezel. Was glad to save money on the RETAIL (non-OEM) drive not paked with a ton of software I wouldn't need or use.

if you can find them in stock go for the Optorite branded DL (DVD9) DVD/CDRW burners. Optorite is one of the main factories, they are the only one's to include the (Samsung?) patented HD-Burn function. This doubles the capacity for STANDARD CDRs. They are also in the $55 - $67 range and burn media flawlessly.

Too late... have had a lite on for several months, but thanks anyway :) also Wally world had the Ati Radeon 9200 for $100... (they are about the only source for any thing around here....) Also have D* Hd receivers for $299 now, Had to drive over 80 miles one way a while back for mine...
