Elevation?

I do not get any signal from the A satellite but I'm fine on the other 2. The elevation the installer set is not what is recommended, but when I changed it I didn't get a picture at all. It is recommended to be at 46 degrees but it is closer to 37 or so.

Could this be why I have no A satellite and if so, why do the others completely disappear when I change it?

Is your mast plumb? If so, then your elevation setting on the dish should be what the receiver shows for your zip code and dish type.

Assuming that your mast is plumb, and there is no obstruction for 101 location (Sat A), you could try to raise your elevation to 46, and move the dish 9 degrees to the east.
