Eshoo Wants Loud TV Ads Regulated By FCC

Washington—The Federal Communications Commission would be required to regulate the volume of television commercials for excessive loudness under a House bill recently introduced by Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.).

I hate to have more federal regulations, but I agree this has gotten out of hand. Some channels have commercials that seem twice as loud as program content.

Especially when the program is DD5.1, the commercials aren't, which due to the wider dynamic range of DD5.1 makes them sound even louder.

Wow, crazy, but I too would welcome this regulation from the gov't.
