The Osgood File this morning talked about a "robot that recognizes faces"....which gave us a fun question to pose to you today and for the weekend here, on our satelliteguys.us (WION) forum: When a news story brings up the word "robot" or it's discussed somewhere, WHAT robot from the world of entertainment do you think of first? Rosie from the Jetsons? "Robot" from Lost in Space?" another favorite? Kind of fun to think of the robots from entertainment and how they've changed our perception of what a "robot" can be...based on TV and movies! What robot do you think of?

The first to come to mind for me is "Data" off of Star Trek, The Next Generation. Of course ask him and he is an Android. A robot simply follows programming code, whereas an Android has artificial intelligence and has the ability to learn on its own with out need for the program to be updated by a human. I para phrased that but Data said something to that effect in one of the episodes.
