FCC is looking to make IPTV providers classified as Multichannel Video Programming Distributors (MVPDs) requiring providers like CBS, NBC, and Discovery Communications to sell them content. I'd love to see the FCC require Les Moonves to sell his content to Netflix and Hulu whom the guy is completely, almost religiously, against.

FCC considers backdoor rule change that could jumpstart the era of internet television | The Verge

If netflix or hulu became an MVPD provider, I wonder if they could force a la carte. They could be really competitive. With CVC's recent win that central DVRs do not violate copyrights, an internet only MVPD could record all your shows in their data center and you stream down even prerecorded shows.

that would be interesting :)

How would this rule change prevent content providers from deliberately pricing themselves out of the IPTV market?
