dragon, trust me, it was France that denied Reagan flyover rights when we bombed Libya.

in 1986 president ronald reagan gave the order to bomb quadaffi, spain at the last minute said no, to fly over rights, worring about the growing arab population.....etc......etc....saying the international rights existed, reagan ordered the bombing to proceed from england over the iberian peninsula without prior warning to the spanish officials.

that's true. And I know why he has did it The bombing of the disco "La Belle" in Berlin (West) and the bombing of an american PAN-AM-Jet over the scottish town Lockerbie just a few days before xmas ... that has killed some american GIs and hundreds of american people. And Libya was suspected.

And it also was in Berlin in 1987 when Ronald Reagan said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

Spain's refusal to allow flyover rights was only significant because of the French refusal. There was no need to violate Spanish airspace flying from England to Libya. The direct route would take them over France all the way to the Med.

Since Alito is going against the committee on Monday, the commercial is timely. Not surprised to see such a commercial on CNN. They've gone so downhill ever since the days of Bernard Shaw.
