So I decided to swap out my h24 to the genie client c41. Before I used both the hdmi and component outs to power 2 tvs. So I get the c41 and it's doesn't have component out. What should I do I think I made a big mistake. Ya I know they sell hdmi splitters but I'm confused on if they work especially since I have both tvs on at the same time .

There's a dongle for the C41 that gives you component out. http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=h2510pin
Make sure you get the COMPONENT one because there is a very similar COMPOSITE one also.

The POWERED HDMI splitters from companies like Monoprice work fine with two TVs on at the same time. IMHO a better solution than the dongle because it avoids the risk of HDCP issues.

Thanks for the reply. I see the dongle uses the svideo port. Does it still transmit it in 720p. Also what's HDCP issues?

720p or 1080i, which ever the hd signal is.

It's not an s-video port, it's a special port for dongles.

HDCP is the copy protection protocol for HDMI. Previous DirecTv receivers only had HDMI on premium channels. The C41 has it on all the channels. This can cause problems if one TV is using component and the other on HDMI, when the one on HDMI goes into standby some TVs fail the HDCP validation and this shuts off all the video. Using the correct powered HDMI splitter avoids this problem.

I use one of those dongles. I asked the installer for one when he came to set my system up. He almost walked away after handing me the one for composite. I had to stop him and ask him for the component one. It works great.
