BOULDER, Colo., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Front Porch Digital (FPD), the Broadcast and Media Division of Incentra Solutions, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ICNS - News), today announced that it has completed a new DIVArchive installation dedicated to the high definition (HD) content of VOOM HD Networks, the largest and most diverse suite of high-definition channels nationwide and currently available nationally on DISH Network. The high-capacity DIVArchive system will enable VOOM, a subsidiary of Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, to manage efficient storage of the network's significant library of large HD files.

"The programming we provide on VOOM HD Networks is the largest and most diverse offering of HD content available anywhere, and Front Porch Digital's DIVArchive will enable us to preserve, manage, and access this large store of HD media using a reliable, scalable infrastructure with a proven track record in large-scale implementations," said Steven Pontillo, Senior Vice President of Technology for Rainbow Media Holdings.
"We are constantly looking to improve the quality, value, and range of our HD programming, and DIVArchive will allow us to pursue this mission with the support of a robust archive management solution," continued Pontillo. "Front Porch is the only archive management provider capable of delivering the performance characteristics and scalability that are critical to the HD operating environment."
The transaction was completed as part of the five-year exclusive contract signed in 2003 between Front Porch and Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of Cablevision. The company's VOOM HD Networks channels include movies, sports, music, travel, fashion, the arts, cartoons, and news -- all in stunning HD.
"The global broadcast industry is beginning to move to high definition content, and a number of our customers already manage HD content with DIVArchive," said Front Porch president Mike Knaisch. "This VOOM installation likely is the first HD-dedicated broadcast archive in the United States, and the patented architecture of our DIVArchive is uniquely capable of managing these huge files. We believe no other archive management provider can match our track record with systems of this scale."
DIVArchive (Distributed Intelligent Versatile Archive) is a software middleware that enables interoperability between large digital media storage devices, video servers, editing systems, and digital media workflow applications in the broadcast, media, and entertainment industries. DIVArchive simplifies the process of preserving, managing, and accessing content. According to a March 2005 report by industry analyst Datamonitor, DIVArchive is the global leader in broadcast archive management software, as well as the dominant brand within Europe. With more than 100 DIVArchive installations worldwide, Front Porch has deployed many of the largest broadcast archives in operation today, including at least two that contain more than a petabyte of content.

I wonder if they have a home consumer version of this for say $199?

All we need for that is that petabyte hard drive in our DVRs! ;)

Don't we wish.

But my company did setup the storage for the Boston Redsox NESN since the converted all there tapes to digital storage and will be doing all 2006 H & A games in HD along with Pre and Post game shows. Last I heard in was a few petabytes setup.
