Having same problem with my fta dish setup can not get any signal at all. Please help! Universal lnbf and aim at galaxy 19 97w and will not get any signal just 60% sentivty

:welcome to SatelliteGuys Dmurrell360!

I broke your post off to its own thread.

What receiver do you have? What dish and size?
Do you have a known good transponder set? 12152 H 20000 is a great one to start with for 97W.
Did you do a site survey using dishpointer.com or phone app? Did you set your skew for your location? Did you preset your Az/El?
Give us more info and we can help you out! :)
Also, do you have your LO for 97W set for universal or 10600 w/ 22kHz on?

This is my reciever and universal lnbf I have them set to universal on my receiver. Other setting are auto. Used dish pointer for my specs. Still no qaulity signal nothing blocking beam. Just can’t figure it will get some more pics of my setting on receiver and dish setup tomorrow. Thanks for the response

Not completely familiar with that particular receiver, but I think I know what it looks like. So, yeah post up more pics tomorrow and we can help get you going.
Maybe someone will come along that has one.
Putting in a good known currently active transponder is imperative.

I have one of those receivers. It's very cheap and generic. Also known for being used for hacking. They are all over eBay for under $25. Most do not have the K1 Koqit name on them, just unbranded.

Only thing I've noticed different from my unbranded one and the K1 Koqit, is the boot logo, and on the unbranded ones, most have PornTube instead of Youtube, which I would like to change, but can't find any firmware to re-write.

It also looks the same as the SatHawk PVR200HD, but I don't know if the firmware is different or not, since I haven't been able to get their firmware to try and re-write my receiver.

I'll have to re-connect the one I was playing around with and see what setting I have. Maybe it will help.

Enough to clear whatever you have around. Trees or buildings, hill...
If you have a clear shot at the satellite technically you could mount it right on the ground, and I have seen installs like that. No the preferred way, but you could do it.
With satellite you have to have a direct clear line of sight. As long as you have that you are good. It is not like terrestrial where you try to get it as high as possible.

This is my setup tried again today with an called dishpointer pro and still no results doin swipes from east to west. And goin up and down with Elevation still no quality signal reciever and lnb are from eBay cheap lnb was 12 bucks and reciever was 27. Maybe the equipment is faulty?

Your install location longitude is near 87w and your target satellite is at 97w. This means the target satellite is west of your install location. In looking at the photos that are posted, the LNBF skew (rotation) is set to the wrong direction. The Dish mount skew rotation should be set at 90 (level straight across and not tilted). Only rotate the LNBF in the clamp.

Is the new linear KU LNBF mounted in the EXACT position as the original centered LNBF was mounted? The face and the center of the the feedhorn of the new LNBF MUST be at the EXACT height, angle and distance from the reflector as the original LNBF that was removed. Maybe post an image of how the new LNBF is mounted to the dish?

Currently the skew is set clockwise (rotated to the East) if standing in front of the dish looking at the back of the LNBF. Since the target satellite is located to the West of your location, the skew must be rotated counter clockwise (rotated toward the West).

With the skew set to the opposite direction, I doubt that any satellite signal will be detected with the LNBF being 24 degrees out of skew.

Here is the aiming information for your location to locate 97w:
Dish Elevation Scale Reading: 44.9°
Compass Reading Azimuth (magn.): 198.7°
LNB Skew Rotation Standing in front of the dish facing the back of the LNBF: 11.9° CCW (rotated to the West)

The level (angle finder) mounted on the LNBF support arm is not measuring the elevation angle. This is an offset dish and neither the arm or the face of the dish are aimed at the satellite. Use the elevation scale on the dish mount (with the LNBF mounted at the EXACT postion as the original LNBF).

Welcome to FTA satellite. Was wondering who manufactured your dish, it has a nice heavy duty mount. Is the LNB mount telescopic? Reason I ask is that the LNB looks a lot farther from the dish than most setups.

I echo what Mike said, you can mount it at ground level if there are no or minimal obstructions. But in the case of a big snowfall at least you won't have to shovel the dish out of any drifts.

I’m using an older dish 30in viasat.it did not have a lnbf on the end of it when i got it out of the trash lol. I adjusted my lnbf and finally got a signal.

Congrats!

Now that you have confirmed that the system is working, you can focus on optimizing the signal quality! A 30" dish is on the small side, so everything will need to be adjusted to receive weaker signals.

Let the fun begin!
