FTA Setup

I am going to setup a FTA in Florida. I have a few questions to ask. First how do you figure out the magetic declination i seen the chart and can't make heads and tails on how to do it. Second after i set up the dish ( i have a motorized dish) how do i find the satellites? are all the North American Satellites in the south west direction? Will the reciever tell me what i am pointed at. will it show the sat like 101 or 123? Sorry to ask all this but new at setting up a Satellite system.

Depending on the receiver you can setup more than 10 satellite positions, I have around 40 stored.

Also to keep you from getting in "trouble" both those sats as an example are encrypted dishnet sats and if you mistakenly ask about getting their programs via your new box you won't like what the mods will do to you.

Thanks for the info but should i ignore the skew since i am using a motorized system also what does Az (t) Az(m) mean? also E1. I am sorry but i'm to new to this

Yes set the LNB straight up and down on your zero position and the motor will take care of the skew.

AZ (True) = True Azimuth
AZ (Mag) = Magnetic Azimuth.

El = Elevation

I thought the moter only went side by side. Does it go up and down too?

The motor only goes east and west but because of the angles it raises and lowers the dish as it follows the arc, kind of tilts it to line up exactly with the satellite in the sky.
