Galaxy 16

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has pointed to Galaxy 16 (99w). I am trying to pick up the DMX music chans.. They are showing as "free" on Lyngsat and I know that their programing line up is great. I currently have a 39" with linear lnbf pointing to 97w that i plan to use. When i look for G16 in the list of sats in my 2500a, it is not there. I know that g16 replaced the old Galaxy 4r at 99w. I am having trouble tuning in g16 because i do not have a good transponder freq to test with in my stb. if anyone out there has tuned it in, please help me out with some pointers. Thanks!

That DMX music is part of a "HITS" package meant for cable companies. You would need a receiver capable of tuning in Digicipher 2.

Those channels become free after a receiver is authorized for the "HITS" packages. Bascially, HITS is used for small cable companys that can't afford much in BUDS and have only Ku. They combine all the major networks into one "MUX" shall we say. Check out more on www.hits.com

Our normal DVB boxes wont pick those up. As noted, you would need a DCII box (like a 4DTV box)

ic. I do have a dmx box but not sure if it still works or even how to point to 99w using it. I would probably have to use my friends bird-dog to point to it... Thanks for your help guys!

Make sure you are aimed at the Ku side of G16(G4) @ 99, X4 on my Motorola 922. Sometimes I have to bump the dish around to get it in, but they are there.

You'll need a 30-inch dish or larger, and a Ku-band LNBF.

yep, i got a 39" and a ku lnbf. I am using it for 97 IA5 or G25..... what is it this week? lol . I will be using that one.

It's still T5 on my 4dtv..... and that's how I have it stored in all my DVB receivers....
