Hi to everyone sure glad to find this site on C-Band.I have a problem with my G I 2730R receiver,I got it new in 1991 and it still works fine except now when I go to change satellites it will not move the dish I can move the dish by the fine tune adjustment on the remote but on the TV screen the counter stays at 0 even though I can see the dish moving.

Sounds like the reed switch has gone bad.

I'd check the wires first. I've had 'em come loose on both the receiver end and out at the actuator. If all the connections are good, it sounds like the sensor in your actuator died.

Thanks I checked the connections inside,will check outside.

If you have even a basic Volt meter it'll usually have a resitance / continuity test setting. You should be able to see the pulses with your meter when the actuator is moving. The pulses will show as continuity across the two sensor terminals.

I figured this out when I was testing out my Von Weise before I put up the 8' dish.
