My wife and I came in today from the outside and turned on the TV and were surprised and happy to see the Peter Cetera / Amy Grant concert on Rave, this is a concert we have seen parts of but never the entire thing.

Amy Grant gave a great performance and even surprised me by playing her old Christian favorite El Shadai. We were really enjoying the concert, Peter Cetera came out and started singing some great songs, and then at the bottom of my screen a Head appears...

Its VOOM GUY telling me I should watch Monster HD right in the middle of the damn concert!

What the hell is this?

VOOM knock this crap off quick, or I will be knocking the VOOM antenna off my roof as quickly as VOOM Guy nods and smiles at me.

Whoever thought of this idea should be SHOT.

Stop interrupting great programs with this crap!

RE: [VOOM] Get Voom Guy off my screen!

Man you sure whine a lot Scott... Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago you
said you were canceling Voom?

Man you sure whine a lot Scott... Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago you said you were canceling Voom?

Eric lay off the drugs please.

Where did I say a few weeks ago I was canceling VOOM?

Again please say no to drugs. :)

Scott

Scott, How about making a poll to see how many want to get rid of the voOm guy?

This way voOm can see for themself how much we don't like him popping up.
This isn't Internet Explorer, it's voOm and we don't like pop ups on either!

Yes, can the floating "Voom Guy" head please go away? I noticed it on Worldsport while watching the Dog Trials. It's pretty intrusive.

RE: [VOOM] Get Voom Guy off my screen!

You were right.... Wrong Scott... I must have been on drugs :)

I admire Voom trying new things, but this one is a real stinker. Summer hires should be working in the mailroom and not annoying customers.

The Voom Guide Guy must Die!!! Perhaps on MonstersHD??? :D

RE: [VOOM] Re: Get Voom Guy off my screen!

Another vote for removing the Voom Guide Guy. The red couch and the cheeky
announcer people (so far I've seen 2 women and one man) introducing various
monthly programming on other Voom channel between programs is enough. We get
it. Let us enjoy our programming please.

[VOOM] Re: Get Voom Guy off my screen!

Add me to the list also!!! This is the most ridiculous thing I've
seen in a while, especially during the Yes concert on Rave that I've
been trying to catch for two weeks now. This is the only concert
that I think hasn't been run in the ground (yet) by Voom's Rave
channel...

[VOOM] Re: Get Voom Guy off my screen!

Wilt, please have someone at the head office check out the responses
about this. All it does is make us angry. We do not (and I can't
imagine anyone) choose our next program based on "VoomGuy"'s
recommendation.

Use the effort to getting new subscribers to VOOM in the first
place. That will pay off. Even VOOM bumper stickers would be much
more effective.

I have been watching Auction HD for a few hours today and no VOOM GUY. Thank God!! Has our voices been heard, or does Auction HD not get intruded by this guy? Or worse yet does VOOM Guy get Sundays off? :D

I guess VOOM is copying every other network who does it during every show to promote another show. Doesn't bother me as it does not stay up long.

Nope, no day of rest for the floating head. He appeared on the Chris Isaac performance on Rave today. At least it wasn't during the song "Wicked Game" or I would've had a *complete* fit. :D

Comment from my husband: "This shouldn't be happening, I'm emailing Voom tomorrow.".

Yes, please count my vote for getting rid of him. I HATE this kind of stuff!!!

The Rickster
I created an online poll in the SatelliteGuys VOOM forum on this topic. The results so far are a bit telling as when asked "Would you like VOOM to keep the VOOM Guy? " 0% polled have selected "Yes, he's great!" whereas 39% say "No, get rid of him!" plus another 40% say "I'd prefer a sharp stick in the eye than this clown interrupting my shows" and the remainder (about 21%) don't care. Check out the poll and cast your vote at http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=19666

[VOOM] Re: Get Voom Guy off my screen!

Another of the "few" Voom customers who can't STAND voom guy, and the
little singing/acting vignettes telling me about the channels. How
about just being tivo'esq and letting normal people tell you about
cool features. Don't overproduce it, IMO
