i understand that i can pick up dish tv down here in mexico at 77w with a small dish,but would i be able to get ny locals here with a big dish?i believe they are on 110w?

Most locals are on spot beams which have very limited coverage area.

If your service address is in one of these DMA's, you can get the locals on 77 anywhere in the lower 48 and at least northern Mexico.
