Anybody know how long it takes to get paid? I put my claim in back in August and was only able to get somebody on the phone yesterday. They said they recieved my enrollment, but not my application or 214.

So, yesterday, I filled out the VONAP and uploaded a PDF of the 214 with it. It was downloaded this morning. I sent the hard copy express and it is awaiting pickup at their PO box.

Anybody ever filed? I need this money yesterday.

If it takes that long, I guess I will miss next semester and lose out on the rest of my benefits. I am certain that Thanksgiving and christmas will only serve to lengthen that. I hope it doesn't take that long.....

They have signed for my documents, at least.

The school I attended (Kent State University) recognized that it was going to take eons before the 1st payments arrived, so they basically gave me a month or 2 deferrment. I damn near had to go down on the financial aid officer before they would allow that tho. :yikes And before anyone comments, she was NOT anything to brag about. Vastly outweighed me by close to 100 pounds...give or take, I'm guessing she was close to 250. UGH!

Maybe your congressperson could help somehow. Many are looking for votes about now and you never know. Also check with the school's financial aid department. Maybe they can cut you some slack until you get it resolved.

Information wasn't as portable when I collected ('68 through '72) but sometimes you got better results simply because more was handled by real people.

Good luck
