As a part of introducing the new ESX521U-AM adjustable Ku band LNBF, I'd like to do a free giveaway to someone who can test and report the results and do a review on this new LNBF. Please keep in mind that if you win, I'd like to see you test it and post the results and the review within a reasonable (a few day) time after receiving the LNBF if possible.

As far as I'm aware, there is no adjustable monoblock LNBF available in the North American market, so this is a first. This unit will replace our old WS24 LNBF brackets that we stopped producing.

So here is what you do in order to enter to win the ESX521U-AM LNBF:

Reply back to this post with a combination of satellites that range between 4° to 12° that you would think you may be interested in picking up with the ESX521U-AM. The more the better.

The drawing will be held on Sunday the 24th of July, and shipped on Monday the 25th. Please make sure you enter no later than Sunday, the 24th of July by 9:00PM PST. Good luck everyone

A good starting place to test could be 85 and 89, then stretching 85 to 91, then finally 85 to 97... from 4 degrees to 12 degrees, while skipping 103 with its odd skew. I'd be using the WS9036...

I'd test this monoblock on satellites between 91 and 101 inclusive on a WS9036 dish.

There are some good possibilities there for feed hunting, and the staple channels on 97W and 101W.

Thanks for the contest!

This is an interesting and useful new product, and I would be glad to test it on 101 +97,95,93, and 89 west, using my WS7036 dish and Coolsat 6000. Since it is a multiple LNBF, I would use a Diseqc switch and three lengths of RG-6 cable for testing, just as it would be wired in service.

My true south is 116.3w, so all the satellites listed above have good signal at my location.

I would take plenty of pictures, optimized in size before uploading for web viewing.

Is the secondary LNB individually adjustable for skew, or do you just split the difference between the two aiming points on the primary skew adjustment for both?

Since they are Universal LNBFs, a separate 22KHz switch cannot be used. Will a Standard LNBF version be offered in the future, so it can be used with a 22KHz switch?

I'd go with 83 & 91
or 91 & 101
or 97 & 107 possibly (shaw box on 107 for the couple freebies on there)
or maybe 91 & 85

too many possibilities with the fact it is adjustable. That is what makes it COOL

Hi HWM,

Great questions about the product. I answered them here: http://www.satelliteguys.us/free-air-fta-discussion/260556-esx5421u-am.html#post2583896 since this thread is for the giveaway :)

What an interesting product. I would definitely try 97-101W and 83-91W maybe 72-83W? When the leaves come down in the Fall perhaps some Atlantic sats?

I bet I could figure out more if I thought about it.

Thanks for the giveaway Robby.

I would love to test this on my WS2076 between 83 and 101. I know this is more than the spacing allows, but my setup is motorized. If I can get 2 satellites with one position, no lag between channel changes while the motor moves! There are also some possibilities on the universal birds a bit further east, but my reflector is too small to even have a chance over there.

Wow! If this setup works, this would be the ideal install since the very cold winters here in Wisconsin slow down my dish mover to a stop. I would set these LNBF's up on my 85cm offset pointing (1) at 89W and the other at 101W since these are the ku birds I park on when I'm not scanning the skies. I'm usually scanning 74W and 85W and not to forget 91W and 99.2W are also my favorites when blind searching. 79W and 83W seem to get less searches along with 97W and 105W coming in last. My Openbox-S9 would love to test these out, but my existing ESX521 would be lonely on the shelf. So I would have to get another ku dish and put my existing 521 dedicated to 103W due to the offset skew. Thanks for the opportunity to check out these great little units. Keep the new ideas coming. Chad

Some good ones to try IMO is 83-72, 91-87, 91-97, 105-97, 85-74.

37.5-30 would be another one

Would have loved to try from T12 at 15W and Atlantic sat at 12.5W. Not 4 deg but I'd still try :)

I have a round metal Primestar dish I have been going to buy a dual LNBF for to pick up 72w and what ever I could tune on the 2nd LNBF.

My neighbors have a large ever green tree that blocks 72W year round and I need a second dish in a different location to pick it up.

Right now it looks like I'd point it at 72W and 83W.

This would not be just for fun but because I actually need it at this time.

In the future if 72W were to loose its channels then there are to many to list for fast channel surfing and to save wear and tear on my BUD.

I have a Hughesnet dish fixed on 103 because of the skew. I would like to add either 91 or 97 If they can be skewed right. If they can't may try 30 and 37.5, 91 and 97 and either 72/74 and 83.

107 has a couple Shaw Direct (Canadian provider) freeview channels but they are in DC2 so you need a different receiver
111.1 not much...some MPEG4 learning channels
113 has the chinese mux in it
