Last night we just our first rain fade episode in at least 18 months.

It has been extremely dry here and last year we had a record low in rainfall.

So, about 7PM last night suddenly I started getting macro blocking and picture dropouts on 129.

I wasn't long until all three sats were totally gone - ZERO on the point dish screen.

Then it happened - we got an inch of rain in less than half an hour with only pea and small marble sized hail.

And NOBODY'S complaining.

After the system moved on, I looked at the interactive radar on weather.com and there was a line of storms from Big Bend to Lake Superior - mirable visu!

Just had a big down pour here. Lost Dish TV and Internet(Hughesnet) about 7:45 EDT. Just got back on. It was a very welcomed rain. Thank goodness for C-band..didn't miss any of my shows there, not even a blip.

Just looked at the radar - looks like the dry line is heading for us again - more rain and severe thunderstorm warning!

Started at the NM-TX state line and heading east.

People in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas would gladly trade their hail damage for your 1" of rain. Looks like damage estimates will be between $1 & $2 BILLION.

Man has it been dry there? It's been extremely wet here for the last 10mos.The wettest spring I can ever remember. If we get 2 days without rain its a minor miracle.

We really needed the rain here. SW Oklahoma has been in severe drought for more than a year now. We got 3 inches out of those storms Wednesday night into Thursday morning, in NE Oklahoma before they moved on south.

A lot of adjusters and most catastrophe adjuster teams are being sent to Dallas.

No not really, but man that was some rain let me tell you last night. Hardest down pour I have seen in years. Washed the road out and everything.

Its been a wild and wooly year for sure.We have had several gulley washers and one of the worst hail storms I have ever witnessed.Usually always see some pea sized up to marble sized hail but this time they were as large as golf balls. Many cars and homes were damaged.

Oh yeah for sure we had a tornado rip through my town, first real tornado since 1974. We have had small twisters, but this leveled parts of the town and surrounding area. Looked like a big lawn mower went through.

Wow!!Had no idea. What town is that? While tornadoes aren't out of the question here they are extremely rare at our elevation.
