Is it normal for the H20 be warm even when turned off? The Sony it replaces was not like this at all.

The h20-600 runs warmer than the H20-100. I had the -600. To keep it running a little cooler, I put dice under each corner to improve the air flow. Try it, it might help.
The 600 runs warm, I'd even say hot. But (knock wood) I haven't had any trouble with mine since getting it two months ago.
The h20-600 I had initially put out enough heat to fry an egg on.The guide never worked smoothly and after about 4 months it started constantly rebooting itself. D replaced it with an h20-100,runs a lot cooler and guide works much better.
