I am an HD Pack only subscriber with the new 622 receiver.

Actually, for those that are curious, I have the new 622 and I subscribe to the legacy HD Pack + Voom for $15. I do not subscribe to SD, not even AT60. Going to the Stand Alone HD Pack isn't worth doubling the cost to get GamePlay HD, and the new HD Pack isn't even qualified programming, although the $20/mo family pack is!

I thought I had been what Scott was calling an "informed' consumer, that I would make better decisions based on the discussions in this thead. The way I see it, E* has made a custom shaft for everyone, and we have been looking for loopholes to get around it via the threads on this board.

I sold my 942 and upgraded to the 622 because the shaft was smaller, I only paid $150 or so to upgrade, and I own my machine.

The problem is that even though I subscribe to all of the HD programming that E* offers, aside from those new five channels, I STILL GET CHARGED THE HD ENABLING FEE! Those Jerks! They found a shaft for everybody!

So, for me, I have to pay the $6 "access fee" because I don't have qualified SD programming, and I have to pay it again as a $6 "HD enabling fee" because I am not subscribing to SD programming along with the HD.

The fee isn't titled correctly. It should be something like $6 "HD enabling fee ontop of $6 access fee for not subscribing to BOTH SD and HD programming".

E* says that this fee is waived if you subscribe to HD programming, but it is not. Qualified programming is only for a metalic package. You have to subscribe to SD and HD!

This is deceptive. I consider this fraud at this point.

the fee is waived with the new HD only pack I belive.

But you don't even have that so it doesn't matter.
