What is up with the '27' canadian hd channels.

Hardly ever HD?

Their Discovery Channel-HD, has the gall to show SD shows, black bar edges, not even stretched with an HD logo at the top.

CBC does the same thing, what do they all mean by HD?

philhu,

HD in Canada means "Highly Doubtful". We do however get all the US networks in HD so that is a good thing as well as Sporetsnet HD and TSN HD.

Wouldn't you Americans love to see Charlie buy ExpressVU and merge the 2 services? ;)

Crispy

but why does discovery channel obviously show an sd show with the
HD logo in the corner constantly

On a good note, KIRO-7 seattle (on BEV) is showing the seafair hydroplane races live in HD! Right now!
