Anyone know where/how the HD NBC network feeds work on satellite? I currently use a Tiernan TDR6 4:2:2 decoder and 1 M Ku dish aimed at AMC-1 for the SD direct network feeds but wonder just what equipment would be required to receive the same network HD feeds - especially since the SD feeds will be gone in Feb 09 I would think. Same satellite, different transponder? Format? I know that Tiernan offers an HD plug-in for the decoder but $3K is a bit much. Thanks for any help guys.

NBC HD feed uses a different setup than DVB and I this only commercial boxes can get it

as forn the old "leaving in 09" theory, sinne these are the network feeds, they're already digital. The network affiliates grab these and insert their commercials when the time arises.

the only thing the cutoff affects is OVER THE AIR...
satellite? nope
cable? nope

i have a feeling we will see a fta hd mux with all the major networks by 2009. probably c-band, mpeg4, and dvb-s2. this way it all fit on one tp.

Lyngsat shows an 8psk mux on AMC 1 at 12000 H 28755. It says NBC Weather Plus, but I think the HD feeds might be there also. Does your Tiernan do 8psk? I've heard talk that they are planning to switch to DVB-S2 in the future.
