I currently have Dish Network with one satellite with dual LNB. I have two regular receivers now. I want to replace one of the regular receivers with a Tivo box. If I want to be able to record one thing and watch another on the tivo box I will need two inputs for it. Right? The would take both LNB's. How would I hook up the other receiver? Is that what a multi switch does? Do they work with DVR's? If they work and are so much cheaper and easer then LNB's why would you ever need more than one LNB?

Thanks so much for any help......

Tivo can NOT be used as/replace the actual Dish receiver. TiVo can work with a Dish box using IR codes in TiVo and the TiVo IR emitter to "control" the Dish box that is wired to it. If you want to record one program and watch an other program at the same time, you need two separate Dish boxes.

Therefore, I do not understand what you are asking. Tivo/Directv combo may do want you want but that is very different than Dish.
