Help with Dish SD & new Sammy 750

Hi all... First post. I have a brand new Samsung 52" 750 that I love enough to bed. I have an older Dish 522 receiver. It has a S video out & an optical out. These seem to be the best A/V outputs. I had an old Mitz rear proj tv. The STB audio goes through an older non hdmi Denon 3805. I used the s-vid for the old tv. My closed captions worked fine. Now I still run the opt out & the s-vid out to the avr. Only now I run a component out to the 750. It's the best my avr will do. I do not get closed caption on the new tv. It grays out the CC option for the comp in on the tv. Is there a specific menu page in the STB 522 to turn on CC? I looked through every page that I could access on the on'screen 522 menu & found nothing specific. Like I said, It worked on the old tv. Thanks
