"Perhaps the biggest surprise of the Home Media-sponsored conference (and something that was a definite topic of discussion among the attendees over the course of the day) is that the HD-DVD format was a total no-show. Not a single representative of the format was in attendance, despite the fact that they were invited and genuine efforts were made to keep the conference panels and events balanced. What's more, a number of HD-DVD titles won honors at the High-Def Awards last evening (click here for the details), and only Warner and Paramount sent representatives to accept. Universal was represented by no one."

What do you guys make of HD-DVD blowing off an event that was essentially free publicity, even awarding them?

What can HD companies possibly have to do with events where Blu Shill Bill has fun?

Diogen.

I am sure they have a perfectly good excuse for not being in attendance.

Paramount and Dreamworks was there so to say that HD-DVD was a no-show isn't exactly true is it? Besides, as usual , Warner is the one getting most of the accolades. They just seem to do HD right.

Obviously you're not one of the Blu-Ray supporters on AVS bitching about how lowest common denominator HD-DVD is keeping Warner encodes from being their best, blah, blah, blah. :D

We agree on that one, Joe. All studios should be neutral.
