Trying to watch Universe and the horrible audio sync reminds me of the early days of video editing on a computer. It sucks! Blows big time!

The picture looks great. Maybe I should just mute the sound and enjoy the picture.

I am watching "The Universe" right now. I see no sync issues when Stephen Hawkins is talking. His voice sounds a little tinny though.

I am seeing some major Lip Sync issues here.

Yes, I saw major lip synch issues on one of the shows (I think it was Universe), then none on the following.

I've got to tell you, though, the HD episodes on History-HD were stunning and absolutely fascinating. I topped that off with "Hawking Paradox" on ScienceHD (gorgeous quality) and I had one great evening of HD-TV. Truth is absolutely stranger than fiction.

=NLK=

I've been seeing a 1/3 second picture delay on most of the recently released channels. It could be at the source. I'll try to notice between the programs that get served up seprate from the programs.

I'm watching Modern Marvels now, and when the show started it was in full 16:9 HD, now apparently they flipped a switch and it is 4:3 letterbox and pillarbox.

Apparently you chose the wrong computer system for video editing.

Is your sync issue unique the THC?

haha... I am a computer professional by trade. I didn't choose the wrong computer system. I said early days of video editing. I have been doing video editing for well over a decade on the PC.

Yes, my sync problems were unique to History HD.

I noticed that too and glad its not just me. A/E is doing it too, wtf is dish doing? I assume they'll get it worked out soon.

Like I said, you made the wrong choice of computer systems for video editing. I've been doing non-linear for 13 years. None of it involved using separate sound and video capture cards.
Yes, my sync problems were unique to History HD.
Have the problems gone away? I didn't have any sync problems this evening (just a staggering number of commercials). I ended up switching over to a documentary on Charles Darwin on Treasure HD.
