I've seen something that I haven't narrowed down, so I'll throw out what I know....

If you use Netflix and then stop viewing stuff, but leave the app running, when the receiver (or the app ?) goes to sleep, it can be very slow/unresponsive to wake up. Anyone seen anything like this ?
Yes, this exactly.

we are suppose to get two or three more apps in a couple of weeks at CES.
I bet, Dish will probably introduce a few new apps at CES, but I don't think they will be quite ready to be released right then. We'll probably have to wait a little while after CES for anything new.

i think it might be two or three new apps coming according to vivek he said that there will be a couple coming at CES scott said that the watch abc app needs some bugs worked before it is launched according the disney/abc contract we are suppose to get that app also.i hope there will be more coming in the future including my favorite one tunein radio.

Netflix caused both of my Hoppers to lock up. Reset button fixes it.
I'm having this same issue with my one Hopper. The remote used for the Hopper does not respond after a while (works for a short time then nothing except turning the television on/off) when viewing Netflix. The Joey (and its remote) in the other room works fine but for now the only way to restore remote function on the Hopper is a receiver reset.

...1) Prime Time Anytime combined with sports (mostly football). When setting up a timer for a Non-PTA game (Sunday afternoon for example) the end time is automatically set to 60 minutes past the guides end time (which is great for games that are longer than scheduled or for overtime). However, Sunday night football usually goes past 10pm (CST). So, all of the Sunday Night Football game recordings get cut off some time in the 4th quarter. I can't tell you how many games I have watched that get to the 4th quarter in a good close game and it gets cut off. You might say, "Just set up a timer to record the game and set the end recording time to 60 minutes." My answer: It's really difficult to set up a separate recording for a show that's in PTA. And, even if you can maneuver around it, I am pretty sure that the separate timer does not create a separate recording (with the additional 60 minutes) :(...

It is simple. Go to the daily schedule and unskip the timer that says skipped due to PTAT. A separate tuner will record the longer game timer. Or, just turn PTAT off Sundays and set your timers the length that you want them. Only one tuner will be used for all/any of the PTAT channels.

(Sorry for the off topic.)

My suggestion is to leave Netflix alone. It works perfect the way it is (at least on my HWS it does). "Fixing" anything will likely cause more problems than fixes.

Does anyone see the spinning circle with a % counter ? It's almost like an indicator that it's buffering but it will frequently just get hung up (25% seems to be a common point for me). I am hard-pressed to say that I have ever seen a buffering problem with my TV's Netflix app or the Netflix app on my Roku.

Is it possible that the Dish receiver is in a different location than your TV causing the WiFi signal to be lower at the Hopper relative to your TV? At my house, my TV gets a stronger WiFi signal because it is higher up relative to my Hopper which is located closer to the floor in the TV cabinet. Of course, this is only true if you are using WiFi. (I don't know if you are hard wired or not).
