I will be watching when a pop-up saying "...is about to record. Allow y/n. I select yes. When the show starts to record, my receiver changes to that channel, even though there are 2 more tuners available. I push recall and go back to the channel I was watching.
Anyone else experiencing this? Before, the only time I saw this was if all tuners were in use.

Yep. I can have a third tuner available, and it still "burps." I don't think Dish has the slightest interest in correcting this.

The update turned PTAT on by default. If you don't use PTAT, that may be your problem

I've experienced that time from time for years, even before the Hopper. Sometimes a timer overlap, or someone on another tuner.

I haven't been able to figure it out. I only have the receiver - no Joey's. I guess it will work itself out sooner or later.

PTAT is off for me. I never turned it on and it was never turned on by an update.

I'll try that, but if it don't record those Duggar girls, I'll be in heap big do-do, if you know what I mean.....

The first time, you could always check the TV Activity to verify if it started recording, then go manually start it if not. That way you can test the idea AND stay out of the doghouse if it fails.

Just a thought on this. You don't have to select either option on the pop-up. You could try just ignoring the pop-up and wait for it to go away on its own, and see what happens then.

Ironically, this is one of the behaviors that made me want to switch back to Dish from DirecTV. Even though the HR54 had 5 tuners, it would make me switch channels on the C61k to record the one scheduled series (timer) recording.

When I ignore the message, it will switch channels when the recording starts. Happened just yesterday.

Next time this happens, immediately go to your TV Activity screen & I'll bet you one of those tuners will say Guide Update - that's what I found seems to be the culprit.

Yep. I can have a third tuner available, and it still "burps." I don't think Dish has the slightest interest in correcting this.

Sure they do...they correct it by having you upgrade - AND GET ON ANOTHER 2 YEAR CONTRACT - to an H3...which still doesn't solve numerous issues with this POS CUI!

One time the guide was updating. The other times it was not. Annoying, but maybe they will get it fixed someday.
