How to Wake Up to Two Channels Each with One Hour of Viewing Memory?

I like to wake up in the morning with my Hopper 3 tuned to 2 specific channels, each with one hour of viewing memory buffer full.

I upgraded from a 722 to a Hopper 3 last week. On my 722, I set an Auto Tune at 5 AM on Channel A and a Manual Timer from 5:05 am to 5:10 am on Channel B. That worked very well. But it only half works on the Hopper 3. Channel A works, but Channel B does not. Probably because with 16 tuners, it doesn't need to change the other channel to record the manual timer. The other channel looks like it remains on whatever channel I left it on the night before.

Any suggestions about how to make this work on the Hopper 3 for both channels?

Sounds like the autotune and manual timer are using the same tuner because they fire off at different times. Set both to fire off at the same time or try two manual timers at the same time. I think the Hopper only buffers the active tuner, I don't think it will buffer two tuners simultaneously, other tuners must be recorded.
I know if I'm watching a channel and wish to switch to another, the buffer is lost unless I start a timer.

The Hopper 3 does buffer two tuners simultaneously. If you use PIP, you can swap these two tuners and both buffers are maintained.

I tried setting the autotune and the manual timer at the same time, but that doesn't work either.

I came up with a solution or at least a work around. If I make sure the secondary swap PIP tuner is set to Channel B before I go to bed at night, I'll wake up with what I want. The Auto Tune is set for 5 am on Channel A and that works. Channel B will be on the small PIP screen in the morning since that's where I left it the night before. I'll delete the manual tuner since it's not doing anything at this point.

On the 722, the Auto Tune / Manual Timer combo works because it only has 2 tuners. The 722 always grabs the non-viewing tuner to make a recording. When the recording is done, continues on that channel and buffers it. If it needs to make 2 recordings, it grabs both tuners and kicks you off the channel you're viewing.

Since the Hopper 3 has 16 tuners, it doesn't work that way. It doesn't bother either of the PIP tuners to make a recording since there are 14 other tuners available for making recordings. I guess if you wanted to make 15 recordings simultaneously, then it would grab the secondary PIP tuner.
