how to watch dtv on laptop.just keep getting download direct tv player

how can i watch on my windows 10 laptop.i download the player but it never works.is there any work around?

what browser? try a 32bit browser.
there are also reports of issues with the player installing because of account settings (windows can block installs)

Try using chrome. Enable Flash and clear your cache before trying. I fought with this for a long time and support is no help.

If it don't work in Chrome try Firefox, if it don't work in FireFox try Chrome. I can usually get it to work in one or the other. I've never tried it in Edge or IE.

I can watch on Edge Windows 10 signing into myAT&T, watch what's on, guide, pick channel and when prompted to download there will be a dropdown tab that shows on upper right of page, click allow once and so on.
Can't watch locals except for ABC not even a home (?)

I don't think you can watch it from a laptop due to security issues.

Where did you ever hear such nonsense? I've used my laptop and desktop many times just fine.

Some channels use flash and others use the cisco video player...

The DirecTV player does work after some major fiddling... What I do know is that it is one of the buggier pieces of software I've ever witnessed... If they truly cared about it they would have fixed it years ago.
