How Wind and Solar Energy Impact OTA Antenna TV Reception

Oooo, is Mother Nature also going to put up repeaters because rain-wetted leaves in the trees get blown around and produce reflections as well. No? Well, I guess we just need to cut down those trees so we can watch TV when the wind blows…

Most wind turbines use non-metallic rotor blades, so they should be pretty transparent to VHF and low UHF frequencies. Unless the lightning protection system of wires produces enough interference, that is. We don’t have wind turbines in our area, so I don’t have direct experience to share.

(edit: Tyler also didn’t mention that his link is from a UK site with old links, commenting on 4G interference (no 5G) so different Broadcast Standards, frequencies, etc.)

5G seems much more likely to interfere with TV than 4G given that FR1 (450-600MHz) overlaps the entire UHF band.

My beef is the confusion of "wind and solar energy" with the technologies that produce them (windmills and solar panels).
