First post....

New Samsung HL-R4667W
HR10-250

Hooked up HDMI video ok but not audio unless I use RCA cabling. My provider sent me a new receiver but it still has same problem. Was told that they have known about this for 8 months.....Any help? Not a good first impression going all out to HD.......

Thanks

Welcome to Satelliteguys. If you read through the posts, you will find this is a well know issue. The problem is with the TV, not the Tivo. Most TVs do not process Dolby Digital received over the HDMI cable. That is why you will get sound on the upper (non-HD) channels, but not on the Local OTA digital or HD pack channels. If you set the receiver to Dolby Digital off, you will get sound on all channels. Otherwise, most people run a TOSLINK cable from the HDTIVO to their AV Receiver, if they have one.
