I thought we've done this before?

My answer is still HD-DVD for some reason.

Seems like it would be cheaper and it just builds on the exisiting DVD format.

Now we know more about which hollywood companies are supporting each format? I forgot one choice (which is crazy but it is possible). Maybe someone will buy both.

I don't believe this will happen. At the very last moment one of the camps will give way...

But if this does happen, I think I will wait for a dual-format player...

Sony all the way, Blu-Ray rules, hands down, but in the end, I want discs/units that are compatible with both formats.

The cheapest solutions IMO is that Blu-Ray players come with an additional standard progressive scan/upconvert drive - the added cost would be insignificant (maybe $20 per unit).
