I have alligned my Slimeline 5 lnb with the following results:

At 101 95 to 99%
At 103 (ca) 86 to 94%
At 110 95%
At 119 89 to 95%

I am unable to obtain any signal from 99 on my H24 receiver limiting the number of HD channels that I am able to receive. I live in southwestern Idaho. Any suggestions on where I might be running a foul?

Thanks,

Scott

you might have a bad lnb... cant think of anything else...

tilt got to be good ... you got relative good 110 & 119

did you reset receiver ... swm or reg dish ???????

I tried another port and switched out to another LNB (craigslist feebee) no luck. I don't know what the odds are to have two defective LNBs, but I wouldn't be suprised knowing my luck. Thanks for the responses!

No blockage, 100% open sky view. The dish is mounted on the side of the house underneath the eave of my roof by about 3 feet. Would this have anything to do with a lack of reception from that satellite only?

I've reset the receiver each time I make a change just to be sure to update the settings on the receiver.

The 99 sat is the lowest in the sky for your location, so the eave could be blocking the signal. Does the eave block signal to the east?

I don't know. The back of my house runs 68/248 degrees. The eave on the east side of the house extends much further than the 13 inches above the dish.

Go to dishpointer.com and enter your address and then select the DirecTV 99 satellite from the drop down menu. This will then point toward the 99 sat so you can visually determine if the eave might be blocking. Move the green arrow on the map to the location of your dish. Then get a compass and see if the eave really is the problem.

Your magnetic azimuth is 141 degrees.

I got my hands on another LNB and low and behold, there is the sat at 99 degrees. I don't know what the odds are of getting two different LNBs with a bad LNB but I manage to!

Thanks again for your responses.
