Hello,

New to the forum but have been reading it for a while. I'm planning on getting Dish Network installed in the next couple of weeks so I need to see about an antenna for my locals in HD. Below are my digital channels from antenna.web.
I also want to get UPN but thats not listed with the digitals. I really don't know anything about this stuff other than what I read on these forums. Been wanting to get away from cable for a while now. Since I just bought a new hdtv I have even more reason but need some of the experts help. Also will a dish tech install an outdoor antenna for my locals? Anyway here's my info.

Well, where shall I begin.

Problem 1 is WWMT-DT Ch 2 from Kalamazoo. Low VHF channels are prone to interference, thus pixellation and freezes on digital broadcasts. While they were interfering and forcing 8VSB down our throats, the FEDS should have made TV abandon channels 2-6 IMHO.

Problem 2 is you have a mixture of low VHF, high VHF and UHF stations, so you need either an all channel antenna (a compromise at best) or two antennas, one for VHF, one for UHF.

Problem 3 is the stations are three different directions, so you need a rotator for your antenna(s).

I , personally would go with a Channel Master 4228 for UHF, a Wade DWE 247(has good gain on Ch2 & 7)for VHF, connected with a Channel Master 7777 preamp (which has a built-in UHF/VHF joiner) and a Channel Master rotator.

UPN is not digital yet but you might look at
http://www.2150.com/broadcast/default.asp
and input your latitude and longitude to see what is planned.

Also, your UPN stations are ALL class A (CA) or low power stations. They will be among the LAST to go digital.
