So I have a copy of Riverdance (several, actually), and dumped the main song onto my PC as an MP3. I dragged it into my iTunes library. It would not let me convert it into a ringtone. Only items purchased from iTunes can be made into ringtones. So I searched under "Whelan" and found the album and bought that particular song. Tried to convert it to a ringtone.

Response: This item can no longer be converted to a ringtone.

What gives? I just wasted a buck and some time. Is there another way? Do I need to snip out a few seconds to convert? Is there some indication prior to purchase if an item is unsuitable for, or otherwise prohibited from becoming, a ringtone?

I've had this as my ringtone on my old Motorola for years, would really like to continue with it.
