Does the voom receiver only work with the voom service or can I take out the card and hook it up to say another satellite service?

Voom receiver works only with Voom service.
DirecTv reciever works only with DirecTv service.
Dish receiver works only with Dish service

What about the OTA part? If the service does shut down at the end of the month, will the receiver still pick up my local digital & HD TV?

/please say yes, please say yes

No, it will for a few days or a couple of weeks then the STB will go into lock mode due to the absence of a "Good To Go" signal from the EMMS provider. Unhooking the LNB will not help.

OK, so we need someone to hack together a "good to go" signal so we can continue to use the OTA receiver part. :)

Could this be the new voom domain? (unlikely but not sure)

Are Voom 21 channels gone? No.
