Hello everyone,

Is there such a thing as an LNBF that can be used to reveive C and Ku band?

I read it in a post on "TalkAbout". I didn't think there was anything out there that could do that.

Thanks,
Virgil

Virgil,
I was advised against using a dual feed LNBF as they are notorious for poor reception. I would look instead at a Corotor, which is a feedhorn designed to take both C and KU band LNB's. A few companies manufacture them, including Chapperal and Eagle.

For a big dish it is best to get c/ku Lnb's and a dual band feedhorn. Chap,ADL feed's and maybe some Norsat Lnb's. well if you can get an lnbf free then go ahead :)

Hello everyone,

Thanks for the replys!!

It looks like there is a C/Ku LNBF, but you guys don't think it's a good idea.

Have you guys had personal bad experiences with them??

What do you think of just using a C-Band LNBF
(ASC421) http://www.dmsiusa.com/c-band_lnbf.htm

and strapping on an FSS linear Ku LNB. Can I do that?

Does anyone have experience with the ASC421?

Thank you,
Virgil

What dish are you using? Like the others said before if you are using a BUD setup, then by all means get a CorotorII with a 17deg (or lower) C-band LNB and a wideband .6db Ku-band LNB. Buy high stability if you are doing some serious hobbist stuff. Don't limit yourself to just one type.

Man I need my CND to USD conversion chart because that Skypack Level 3 is the deal but WOW sticker shock; then I saw it was in Canadian dollars. WHEW!

If you are in the USA I would "somewhat" advise against buying over the boarder until you do the conversion (USD is stronger). Also might have some delays via customs and weather issues.

Well after the conversion from today's exchange rate you will be spending about $15 more in Canada before any shipping and handling charges.

If I where in the US I would call Dave's Webshop at 479-997-2230 to get a package quote. I have order many items from these guys and it is top notch. Thus avoiding any customs issues and delays and save a few bucks in the process. Skyvision is $15 cheaper and they are usually high dollar.

If you are in Canada then that changes everything.
