Last Sunday the NFL ran late (Redskins in OT, etc.) so that slipped everything on CBS that evening one hour. We also are CSI fans and therefore the start time for CSI Miami slipped from 10PM to 11PM. Of course, my timer started recording at 10PM. It would be nice if somehow the timers could adjust automatically.

Just a thought.

Doug,

In spite of your being a Redskins fan, I'll respond. ;)

As you likely know, the name based timers are 100% dependent on the Guide info, and the Guide service can not possibly know when the game will actually end until too late. It seems that the games run over every week and it kind of makes me wish they would simply schedule something after the game that could be adjusted in length. (More post-game stuff?) A problem with that is that CSI Miami would lose its Prime Time Standing.)

What I can suggest is that you adjust your CSI Timer to continue recording for an hour (or more) after its scheduled completion. During the Off Season I leave this timer the same and simply delete the recording after watching the first 60 minutes of the show. No big deal.

During the fall, on Sunday's only, I set up a timer for 10p-11:30p to catch any spillover... It really paid off last week, as CSI did not even start until 10:01pm (Central). I leave this timer in place, because CBS will never under any circumstance sacrifice one second of 60 minutes to get back on track.
