Ok, lets see if I got this correct, My installer mounted my dish on the roof so I'm not sure what was done up there. He ran the double cable with the copper wire with it down from the roof, to a grounding block, copper wire from the block to a cold water pipe, then 2 cables from the block to the 522 then one cable from the 522 to the 2nd TV.
Sound good?

What CablerMN said.

However, if the installer used a ground block, used the messenger wire to ground the dish, and found a pipe, he probably knew what he was doing.

The best source for a ground is the dirt outside of your home, you have the telco, cable and everyone else using the cold water pipes to ground a system or device, lets load it up so when there is a surge or strike the pipe will handle it all, distrubition is the main thing, phone to ground bar, dishes to ground bar, house wiring to cold water feed

Come on gang, how many times do we have to rehash the grounding thing. Check out the other thread, also dated today.
