Hi Guys,
I do everything with my 10' dish, slaved. But I've been wondering about making a "mobile" setup for the digital side of my NPS Subs.

1- Can you GET a linear lnb for a pizza dish?
2- How much of the NPS Digital offerings (x4 in particular) are KU digital and not C?
3-If I was silly enough to try this, and was willing to reprogram my sats, can a dsr922 drive those little motors for a pizza dish?

I think you will need to have at least a 30" dish to get strong enough signals for the KU X4 channels. Get yourself a FTA receiver and a HH motor for the 30" dish. You can use the FTA receiver to move the dish. You can hook it up with your 922 to get digital KU channels over your 922.

Most people use a 90cm dish for 4dtv X4, I do not think you will get anything on a 18" dish.

Get a standard linear lnbf not universal.

you wont be able to get those with a 18" dish. I tinkered with one (18" dish and KU LNB) and could get the ultra-mega-strong signals near my true south of IA6 like Doc Scott & CCTV. But not much else. Its just too small due to the power being put out. Also I didnt have to adjust skew which majorly helped

You would need a 30" dish or greater for KU. I know a smaller DirecPC dish (32x20) will work for the stronger signals but is pretty bad on the weaker signals

Here is what you could do. Get a motorized KU band system like the MKIT1. Add a DiSEqC positioner like the V-BOX II. And now you have a mobile motorized KU band system for your 4dtv receiver.
