Could somebody clarify what is meant by "slaving" a DVB STB off of a 4DTV STB? I get the point about using the 4DTV as a dish mover, but I didn't think the 4DTV has an IF loop out. What does the coax wiring look like?

To slave a DVB FTA receiver off of the 4d:
C/ku band:
The wire from dish > C-band goes into a HFS splitter with a power pass port on one side.
The power side goes out to the 4D input for C-band
Then if you have ku, a second HFS splitter same as for C-band and do the same procedure and the power side out goes into the 4d receiver.
The other side of the HFS splitter with no power goes into you DVB FTA receiver.
Or as in my setup here:
The non powered outputs from C-band and ku both go into a 4x1 DiSEqC switch, (instead of to the DVB receiver)
on a 4x1 DiSEqC switch ...Line 1 and 2 then from there the single line out goes into the DVB FTA receiver.
That way you do not need an A/B switch or have to unplug any lines to go from C to ku band on the DVB receiver whenever you want to change from C to ku.

I have all my large dishes set up with the 4x1 switch this way and it works great!

I just hope it comes across as easy as it can be accomplished by typing it out here.
