Congratulations to the New York Giants, especially Steve Weatherford on winning the Super Bowl. Steve is a local boy from right here in Terre Haute. He once kicked a 55 yard field goal when playing high school football for Terre Haute North. We have had a few players from Terre Haute to play in the NFL/AFL, but none ever got as far as the League/Conference championship game. We have had quite a few baseball players play in the World Series, Hall of Famers Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown, Max Carey and should be Hall member Tommy John being the most well known, but this is a first for the city.
