Locked Receiver

I received a software update (0x114b) for my HR44-200 receiver overnight (2:23am) yesterday. Since then, when I turn off the receiver, it automatically turns back on a few hours later. When I turn on the TV, the receiver is on and locked on whatever channel I last watched and the remote doesn't work at all. I do the red button reset and afterwards everything works fine including the remote. I turn off the TV when I'm done watching and the next time I turn the TV on, the receiver is already on and I repeat the entire process. I also have done the "refresh" routine on the DirecTV website but it hasn't helped.

I getting tired of the red button reset and wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a glitch in the software update. I'd try a reboot through the menu and if that doesn't work, unplugging it for a few minutes.

I wonder if you can try to force a software update.

May have to RMA the box.

If the software update does not work I would try leaving it turned off for 24 hours and see if it updates again on its own.

Or, try to go back to the NR when the remote works .... provided its still available.

1104 is available right now as the current NR.
