I'm going crazy trying to get my dish to work! Here's my info.
tampa fl zip 33615
Fortec star 80cm dish with stab hh90 rotor lat;28 elevation 35 with a Invacom quid lnb on diseqc. Pointing north. I've gone through all the satellites on (Pansat 2700a) the list trying to get more then a level reading. I would love to get some type of quality read. I don't even know if the rotor is work. Sorry, I've got roof rash and it affecting my brain.

WELCOME to the satelliteGuys.US FTA forum!

I am sure its just a typo, but you should be pointing south, not north :)

I advise removing the motor and all switches, find and store your true south satellite. ONLY then add the motor to the set up!

AMC-9 is your true south satellite, enter a LIVE channel then point the dish watching the TV/Signal meter for signal QUALITY only!

I tried to use the satellite finder program to get Telstar 5. I still just get signal reading no quality levels.

O.K. I've got the dish pointed 180 S where amc9 should be. My levels is a 69% and quality is 0% what am I doing wrong? I cant take the dish off the motor or the roof cause its in a realy bad angle(need a rope to stay up there).

If you have blind scan try that!

If not you have to enter a LIVE TP. or channel before you will ever get signal quality!

Ok, I get a transponder found 0.

Don't know about the Pansat 2700a, but the (at least mine did) Pansat 3500s had AMC9 at 85.0w (where it used to be) instead of it's real location of 83.0w where it is now. If you scanned at 85.0w you should have gotten something, there are some live feeds going as I write. Both birds at 85.0w and 83.0w are empty most of the time. So, you may be on AMC9 after all and nothings up there at the moment. Try to go to AMC2 (85.0w) and do a scan.

My god! I see something! THanx!!!

Well, I'm 10% quality now. What should I try to adjust first elvation?

Elevation on the dish, the elevation on the motor should never be touched! (If you are confident the installation is good)

Pete,

I haven't seen anything on AMC 9 in a long time, especially at this time of day. Even the analog test card is gone.

Jim,

There is one channel that comes in on AMC 9. Its a NBC news feed.
Nothing but colorbars all the time but a good source for those of us around the 83W lat :)

At work, so I'll post the channel info if needed when I get home (or PM me if not suppose to post it here)
