Looking for help

It is a bummer from what i heard that the government owns the ctv and they killed all the OTA broadcast and you have to purchase cable or Bellvu or ShawDirect to watch basic OTA channels.

Technically, we could....but I have that turned off. Believe me when we had it on before it makes things worse than this thread.

As waylew says, it is the CBC that is government owned.

Without going into a lot of detail (and getting myself upset and in a rant!), the CBC, as well as other broadcasters, closed down a lot of transmitters (not all) in many of the so-called smaller markets during the digital transition. As well, there are few, if any, sub-channels broadcast in Canada.
